Off-Road Racing classes
Below are the types of vehicles that are raced at PT Raceway. Included are brief descriptions to help get you started.
2wd Stock SCT
Short Course Truck
2wd Stock SCT (Short Course Truck) is a very popular class at PT Raceway. These trucks are very durable and still very fast. The stock designation means that your ESC must be in stock mode (blinky) and you must run a 17.5T motor. Vehicles are checked before the races to ensure fair competition.
4wd SCT
Short Course Truck
4wd SCT (Short Course Truck) is a modified class by default. These vehicles are the same size as their 2wd brothers but can be much faster. They are still extremely durable but with the added power of 4wd, a modified motor and open ESC settings, these trucks can be one of the most intense drives you'll experience.
Stadium Truck
Stadium truck is a class that got a lot of people into the sport of RC racing in the 90's and has experience a resurgence of late. With their attractive looks, wide stance and forgiving yet precise handling they are a favorite of a lot of racers. They are 2wd vehicles that we run as a modified class. (Mod motors, open ESC settings)
2wd Stock
Buggy
2wd Stock buggy is one of the fastest classes at PT Raceway. These vehicles are quick, nimble and jump very well. While not as durable as a SCT, they can still handle a lot of abuse and learning to drive a 2wd buggy greatly improves your driving ability.
4wd Mod
Buggy
The 4wd mod (modified) buggy class is also 'mod' by default. They consistantly run the fastest lap times at PT Raceway. (And most other tracks as well) With their 4 wheel drive system, modified motors, open ESC settings and a lightweight design these vehicles tear through an off-road course like no other machine can.
sportsman
The Sportsman class is the novice class of RC racing. Here, anything goes as long as you are new to the sport of RC racing. Bring whatever vehicle you have with whatever motor and test your skills trying to maneuver around our off-road style course with jumps and obstacles. Don't have an RC? No problem! We have several available for rent and it's only $10 for the night!
